The nature-based playground features a 10-metre high cone play structure topped with butterflies.
There’s also a spinner bowl, waterlily spring toy and a slippery slide that twists to the ground.
The new playground is aimed at kids aged 2-12.
It’s part of a 75,000 square metre recreational park and green open space.
The upgraded park also boasts new rock seating walls, colourful artwork and interweaving paths for children to ride and play.
Russell Family Park is located off Western Avenue in Montville.
However it is best accessed via the public carpark at 198 Main Street.
The car park has 125 spaces following an upgrade in 2018.
Upgrades have also delivered improvements to the amenities block, drainage, lighting and signage.
The playground re-opened in mid-May, following its most recent upgrade.
“This much needed upgrade now provides enhanced recreation and business access for the Montville community, which I believe will be a fantastic asset for residents and visitors,” Division 5 Councillor Winston Johnston said.
