Come ‘n’ try arvo for kids sport

Is your child keen to take up a new sport but isn’t sure which one to get involved in?Then get them down to Noosa District Sports Complex on 20 February for the Noosa Come ‘n’ Try Sports Arvo.

Primary school children can try cricket, soccer, tennis, softball, AFL, rugby league, golf and OzTag at the event, put on by Noosa Council and local sports clubs.

Council’s Sports Development Officer Amanda Tie said past Come ‘n’ Try afternoons had been popular among kids and parents who were undecided about which sport to get involved in.

“Children are grouped by age and they participate in a series of hands-on introductory sessions run by local and state sporting organisations. It means kids get to try a wide range of sports all in one afternoon,” Ms Tie said.

“In addition to the Come ‘n’ Try sport sessions, Noosa Disc Golf, Noosa Outrigger and Noosa Fitkids coaches will be on hand with demonstrations and to talk to parents and children about new programs and activities for kids.

“It’s sure to be a great afternoon and a fantastic opportunity to experiment with sports, in a fun environment.”

The Come ‘n’ Try Sports Arvo will run from 3.30pm to 5.30pm on Wednesday, February 20 at the softball fields, Noosa District Sports Complex, Butler St, Tewantin.
