Bluey has won a Logie.

The Queensland children’s show took out the Most Outstanding Children’s Program category at the TV Week Logies, held on the Gold Coast on Sunday evening.

The cartoon, based on a family of lovable Blue Heelers, beat Mustangs FC, Teenage Boss, Grace Beside Me and The Bureau of Magical Things.

Launched on the ABC last October, Bluey has been an amazing Australian television success story.

It’s the most downloaded program in ABC iView history and will soon launch into global markets after being picked up by Disney and the BBC.

The show, set in Brisbane is about a family of Blue Heelers – sisters Bluey and Bingo, mum Chilli and dad Bandit – who turn everyday life into extraordinary adventures.

Its warm and humorous take on family life has won over kids and parents alike.The show is created, written, animated and post-produced in Brisbane.

Production on a second series was due to start in late May.
