Exploring the Coast just got easier

The Go Explore Card is here.

A new tourist travel card has landed on the Sunshine Coast to help our holidaymakers move around our region.
Transport Portfolio Cr Rick Baberowski said it was rewarding to see the roll out of TransLink’s go explore card on the Sunshine Coast.
“Council has been working with TransLink for some time to bring the benefits of the go explore card to our region,” Cr Baberowski said.
“We’re happy that go explore has been launched to help our visitors see more of the Coast simply and economically.
“The go explore card allows unlimited daily travel on Sunshine Coast buses for just $10 per day for adults and $5 per day for children.
“With parking always at a premium over the holiday period, we encourage our visitors and residents to use public transport as an alternative to taking your car.
“Implementation of these products also aligns with council’s goal to achieve a shift to public transport usage, as outlined in the Sunshine Coast Council Sustainable Transport Strategy.”
Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said tourists can load their go explore card with up to eight one-day passes, making holiday planning easier.
“The card allows them to travel all day for one price, without buying paper tickets, needing to understand our zones, or topping up their go cards which we know can be a hassle for tourists,” Mr Bailey said.
Bringing the go explore card to the Sunshine Coast was another step in making public transport more affordable and attractive.
“Launching on the Sunshine Coast means the government is fulfilling the recommendation from the 2016 South East Queensland (SEQ) Fare Review and calls from Tourism and Transport Forum to expand use of the go explore card,” Mr Bailey said.
Cards are available from selected retailers including 7-Eleven stores and Night Owl stores and accommodation places, and can be topped up conveniently on the bus.
